Serving NALC's retired members

NALC's Retirement Department assists retired letter carriers regarding their benefits under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS). The department also provides help and advice to survivors of retired letter carriers. The current NALC director of retired members is Ernie Kirkland.

While active letter carriers will find the CSRS and FERS annuity estimates useful along with the general information in our NALC retirement publications, they should contact their local personnel office for specific answers to their questions or when preparing for retirement (see Counseling)

Convention breakfast for retirees

As part of the 2010 NALC National Convention, the Retirement Department will host a breakfast on Wednesday, August 11 at 7:30 a.m. Tickets to this event may be purchased now for $25 each. Delegates are urged to order tickets by clicking here to download the form, completing it, then returning it, along with a check (payable to the NALC Secretary-Treasurer), to:

The NALC Retirement Manual in compact disc (CD) format is available for purchase through the NALC's Supply Department.

Retiree Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)

There was no projected accumulation toward the 2010 COLA for retirees was following the July 16 release of the June figures.
