An NALC treasure hunt
Help us preserve the union’s past! The NALC has an extensive collection of historical artifacts and memorabilia. But there are gaps. Here are some of the most important items we’d love to find.

Convention badges

We have badges from almost all of the NALC’s 64 conventions except these:
- 1890 1st Convention Boston, MA
- 1891 2nd Convention Detroit, MI
- 1893 4th Convention Kansas City, MO
- 1894 5th Convention Cleveland, OH
- 1900 11th Convention Detroit, MI

The Postal Record

We would especially like to have a copy of the magazine from the union’s first year, 1887. NALC Headquarters has at least one copy of all the other volumes. |

Constitutions

Another important area of our collection is our set of NALC Constitutions. We have a complete set beginning in 1943, but would like to fill in the gaps from the earlier years.
We need:
- NALC Constitutions between 1889 and 1916
- NALC Constitutions between 1918 and 1931
- NALC Constitutions between 1935 and 1943

Photographs

We are always interested in photos from the early years of the union’s history, either of union activities or of letter carriers.
Can you help us complete our collection? Please contact the NALC Information Center if you have any of these items that you would like to donate – or know where any of them are.
