- June 6 -- The annual food drive of the National Association of Letter Carriers collected more than 74.4 million pounds of food to help restock food banks, pantries and shelters around the country – an impressive result rendered all the more necessary by the struggling economy and the multiple recent natural disasters.
- April 22 -- The National Association of Letter Carriers will conduct its 21st annual food drive to combat hunger this year on Saturday, May 11. On that day, letter carriers will collect non-perishable donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes.

- October 18 -- The National Association of Letter Carriers today issued a statement from its president, Fredric Rolando, on the U.S. Postal Service reaching its $15 billion borrowing limit:
