Veterans urged to file for PACT Act benefits before Aug. 9

Last year, President Biden signed the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our PACT Act (PACT Act) into law. The PACT Act is the first law that provides care and benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for millions of veterans who have been exposed to toxic exposure from burn pits.

While there is no deadline to file future claims, veterans should file claims by Aug. 9, 2023, to receive benefits backdated to Aug. 10, 2022, the day the bill was signed into law.

To file a claim or for more information, please visit va.gov/pact or call 1-800-MY VA 411.
