While presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush might be running with different parties, they both share one similar element: They lead in Super PAC donations.
Priorities USA and Right to Rise PAC–the Super PACs supporting Clinton and Bush, respectively–began raising large contributions with the help of both individuals even before they announced their candidacies. Under the terms of Citizens United v. FEC (2010), Super PACs are different from traditional PACs (political action committees) in that they are permitted to raise and spend unlimited amount of money to influence the outcome of electoral campaigns, so long as they don’t coordinate with the candidate or campaign.
