The two Democratic presidential candidates have both outraised their Republican opponents significantly. (Donald Trump is self-funding his campaign.)
Relying just on small donor contributions, Sanders has caught up to Clinton’s war chest and has a large enough base to remain in the race as long as he chooses. In fact, Sanders has outspent Clinton by nearly $10.4 million.
Currently, both Democrats also have much more cash on hand than any others. Clinton leads with $29 million, while Sanders has $17.5 million. Cruz leads the Republicans with $8.8 million, whereas both Trump and Kasich have under $2 million available.
