2015 Food Drive ‘Family Circus’ artwork revealed

The official artwork for the 2015 Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive, designed by “Family Circus” artist Jeff Keane, has been revealed. An 11MB high-resolution JPG is now available for download from the Food Drive Tool Kit page (under “Artwork and logos”).

Also recently added to the Tool Kit are NALC President Fredric Rolando’s letter to branch presidents, encouraging them to quickly sign up to take part in the 23rd annual national food drive, as well as the official branch Food Drive registration form. Branch Food Drive leaders can find these resources and much more in the Tool Kit.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is again set for its traditional second Saturday in May—May 9. The drive is the nation’s largest single-day food collection effort—last year, it gathered 72.5 million pounds of food, the 11th consecutive year the drive surpassed 70 million pounds, bringing the total to more than 1.3 billion pounds since the national drive began in 1992.

On the second Saturday of May, residents are asked to put out by their mailboxes bags of non-perishable food donations, which letter carriers will collect as they deliver mail along their postal routes. The goods are then sorted and distributed to local food banks and pantries in more than 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states as well as U.S. jurisdictions.
