Consumer Reports (December 2014) ranked the U.S. Postal Service as the top package-delivery provider.
On a five-point scale, with 5 being the best, USPS received an overall score of 3.8. This was better than the scores of FedEx (3.1) and UPS (2.6).
Consumer Reports also ranked the delivery providers in four categories: convenience, reliability, cost and U.S./international service. The Postal Service won top honors in two categories and tied for first with another delivery provider in the other two categories. See the story here.
In addition, Consumer Reports did a cool study on prices for shipping a package using three delivery providers. USPS was the hands-down winner.
