Former Branch 56 President Richard Davidson dies

NALC is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Richard “Harley” Davidson, who died on May 20.

Richard served in the Air Force before he began his career with the Postal Service in 1979. He carried the mail for 40 years until he retired in 2019. Throughout his career, Brother Davidson was a member of Grand Rapids, MI Branch 56, and he served the union in several positions. He served as the vice president and later the president of Branch 56. He also served as the vice president of the Michigan State Association of Letter Carriers.

Richard is survived by his wife Carole, his four children Richard, Donovan, Candice and Kim, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was 75.

“NALC mourns the loss of Brother Davidson,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “We appreciate his years of service at the branch and state levels. We send our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues.”
