USPS expansion of service update

On June 2, 2020, USPS announced a major athletic footwear retailer has elected to resume their Ship-from-Store program with the Postal Service. The retailer will ship outgoing parcels from 1171 stores nationwide beginning May 27, 2020 using Priority and First-Class Mail. City letter carriers will receive a carrier pickup notice and will collect these parcels from retail locations during their regular scheduled delivery times.

Other retail partnerships continue to grow as well. In January, one major retailer introduced same-day parcel pickup and delivery in Florida resulting in 1,317,592 additional parcels. A current partnership with a retail pharmacy chain has provided an additional 6,864,625 parcels for delivery through the end of May 2020.

Sunday and holiday parcel delivery continues to be a significant source of revenue for USPS. Through the end of May 2020, the Postal Service has delivered 74,694,448 Amazon Sunday and holiday parcels. Beginning in January 2020, letter carriers began delivering Sunday parcels for other courier services, which has resulted in an additional, 11,658,988 parcels delivered through the end of May.
